Almost all college students feel stressed and overwhelmed at some point. Family obligations and work combined with classes, studying, and exams can easily start to feel like too much for anyone. Luckily there are steps you can take to reduce college stress. An article from Purdue Global offers some advice:

  • Eat Well - An unhealthy diet can increase stress levels. Try to avoid too much high-fat, high-sugar, and high-caffinated foods.
  • Excersie - Exercising produces endorphines which help lower stress. Even just talking a walk helps.
  • Having An Outlet - It's important to take breaks and do something that takes your mind off of everything else.
  • Build A Support System - Surround yourself with friends and family who encourage you and listen without judgement.
  • Make a Plan - Staying oragnized and prioritizing what you have to get done can take away some stress.
  • Think Positively - When you start feeling overwhelemd repeat affirmations remiding yourself that you can do this and you are capable.
  • Meditate - A simple, effective way to reduce stress.
  • Journal - Writing down your thoughts can allow you to get them off your chest.

If you tried some of these and you still feel stressed and overwhelmed you have resources available to you. It's okay need help sometimes.
