I'm a homeschool student; what do I need to do to apply to SUNY Ulster?

SUNY Ulster welcomes applications from home-schooled students. We believe our student-centered environment with small classes, dedicated faculty and lots of personal attention to be a good fit for you.

Steps toward Enrollment

  1. Fill out an admissions application online or print this application out and mail it to Admissions Office at the address listed on the application.
    • submit your official letter of IHIP completion from your school district.
  2. Submit one of the following:
    • Have a passing score on the the TASC (Test Assessing Secondary Completion) high school equivalency test. (Only students who have reached the maximum compulsory age of school attendance are eligible to take this test.)
    • Submit your official letter of IHIP completion from your school district.
    • Provide a letter from the superintendent of the school district in which you reside, attesting to your completion of home instruction that meets the requirements of Section 100.10 of the regulations of the Commissioner of Education (or equivalent for students who reside outside of New York Stat
